Indiana County, Pennsylvania is located in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains -just one hour east of Pittsburgh and has several unique attractions and entities that make it a very desirable travel destination.

Indiana County is home to: 64 miles of Rails to Trails and more than 15 miles of single track mountain biking, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a robust Agritourism industry, old order Amish families, and a wealth of history ranging from the French and Indian War to our own hometown hero, Jimmy Stewart.

150th Indiana County Fair

2012 marks the 150th celebration of the Indiana County Fair!!

Running August 24th through September 1st, the Indiana County fair is an ideal place for everyone to go and have a great time!

Events began on Friday when the exhibits begin setting up.  Then, on Saturday, the judging of the exhibits takes place and there is an antique tractor pull as well as a modified and farm tractor pull.

Sunday is "Family Fun Day" and is also "free admission day"!    Festivities included:  the receiving of Christmas Trees, an Antique Motor & Machinery Show, a kid's pedal tractor pull, 4-H dog show, an outhouse race, an antique tractor parade, the crowning of the Indiana County Fair Queen and the Harvest Home Festival --featuring Jeff Smith.

Livestock entries began on Monday, August 27th.  Also occurring on Monday was harness racing and of course, the much anticipated performance of the country performer "Justin Moore"!

Last night, Tuesday - August 28th - was Indiana Regional Medical Center Day and featured Band Night where area bands performed for the delighted crowds.  Occurring during the day was a Junior swine show and showmanship, a draft horse show & showmanship, an open dairy show and Junior dairy show as well as additional harness racing!

Today, Wednesday - August 29th, featured a sheep show this morning, harness racing, a log sawing contest, a 4-h rabbit show, a lead line contest and a 4x4 truck pull.

Tomorrow, Thursday - August 30th, is Turner Dairy Day and there will be a beef show, 4-H horse and goat shows, premier showmanship contest/cheese auction, a milk chugging contest and it is also cheer leading expo night!

Friday, August 31st will be Tri-Star Motors Day! It will feature day-long activities including:  a horse show, a 4-H & FFA trophy presentation, a Junior live-stock sale and tractor & truck pull.

Saturday, September 1st is EQT Day!  Occurring during the day on Saturday are: a horseshoe pitching contest, a demolition derby and a truck pull.

Aussie Kingdom
Carousel Band Organ
Wood Carver (Appalachian Arts Studio)
and the 150th Indiana County Fair History Exhibit
